Film Ratings – ⭐⭐⭐(3/5 Star)

“This film is an absolute treat with a gripping story and a powerful message that resonates with audiences of all ages. Varun Dhawan shines in his massy avatar as Satya, an IPS officer committed to justice. His portrayal is packed with energy, emotion, and charisma, proving yet again his versatility as an actor. Adding to the excitement, Salman Khan makes a thunderous cameo appearance that takes the film to a whole new level of entertainment.

The plot centers on a critical and socially relevant mission—saving innocent girls from the clutches of evil forces. The narrative is intense yet engaging, blending action, drama, and emotion seamlessly. The high-octane action sequences, coupled with impactful dialogues, keep the audience hooked until the very end.

What stands out is the strong moral core of the film, reminding viewers of the importance of courage, justice, and standing up for what’s right. The climax, where Satya and his team eradicate the villains, is both satisfying and inspiring.

Coming back from a night screening and under all the Pushpa 2 hype, I have to say that BABY JOHN unfortunately doesn’t live up to the great expectations its amazing teaser gives you. It’s a good Christmas Masala entertainer with a FLAWLESS and peak Varun Dhawan, but it doesn’t have the magic and punch you want it to have. I haven’t seen the OG film BABY JOHN is based on and regardless of what I say, people will definitely watch this film, so I’ll keep it very short if my review has any impact on your decision to watch the film:

BABY JOHN suffers from the same problems that most South team produced Massy Hindi Films have — the editing is really bad. Dialogues that should have impact are rushed by the editor, the first fifteen minutes of these movie are super rushed, and each scene cuts too damn quickly. Some of the action also happens way too If they made the climax more action packed and took their time with it, or even did basic things like just slowing down Varun’s “Main Pehli Baar Aaya Hoon” line in the edit could’ve increased goosebumps for everyone, but you mostly get a good time if you don’t use your brain too much. But BABY JOHN’s about “good vibes only,” and I’m not a snooty critic looking for an award winning story in a Masala entertainer, SO let me praise what

DOES WORK: – VARUN DHAWAN — After 10+ years of being in the movies, he gets his own star card in this movie “VD In and As “BABY JOHN,” and he honestly deserves it. I’m so so happy for him. Despite the rushed story and average direction, he makes every scene work. He does the action so well, he looks great while doing it, and he dances like a dream. Watching him take down a group of bad guys with the Baby John theme is goosebumps worthy. While he deserves a much better movie,

BABY JOHN had all the ingredients to be a home run, and Varun’s the main ingredient that rises above any flaws in this movie. Varun’s one of the few Hindi film actors with amazing screen presence and charisma, and it shines in this movie. He also looks so good with Keerty Suresh and he and Jackie Shroff are great against each other. – The BGM / Action: I wish the action packed more punch and showed Varun going all out like they had for SRK in JAWAN or Allu Arjun at the end of Pushpa 2 in terms of emotions and brutal action, but the action set pieces are fun to watch! I just wish with a great villain like Jackie Shroff and a hero like Varun, they had better written scenes that lasted longer and weren’t so cheesy. When the both get the larger and life massy moments, it’s so fun to watch. Baby John’s best moments are plenty but far between, and if the Climax didn’t happen so quickly and easily and the editing was far better, I think Baby John could’ve been amazing. Great attempt, average execution. Go for Varun Dhawan!

Overall, this movie is a perfect blend of entertainment and substance, making it a must-watch for families and fans of action-packed dramas. It’s a wholesome mass entertainer that leaves a lasting impact!”
