New Delhi: Only five games remain for the Indian side, captained by Rohit Sharma, to play before the 2022 T20 World Cup going to be held in Australia. The squad hopes to improve its preparations via these games. Even though India defeated Australia in the Three-match T20I on Sunday, the team management still has to improve in several aspects.

The Indian squad defeated Australia, but South Africa now poses the real threat. The Indian squad has not been able to defeat this African team in a home T20 series even once. Beginning on Wednesday, the three-game T20I series against Africa will be played in Thiruvananthapuram. These teams will play two T20 practice games before the World Cup.

Shami and Pandya out of the squad: In preparation for the match against South Africa, the national selectors made a number of alterations to the lineup. All-rounder Hardik Pandya was replaced in the lineup by Bengal all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed. From this series, Hardik has been rested. Deepak Hooda has been replaced in the team by Shreyas Iyer. Hooda is experiencing back pain. After Australia, Mohammed Shami was also dismissed from this series. Shami is still healing from Corona, and fast bowler Umesh Yadav will continue to play for the team in his place.
