Neeraj Chopra wins historic gold in world athletics championship

The ‘golden boy of India’ yet again created history by winning a gold at the World Athletics Championship 2023 held in Budapest, Hungary.

Neeraj won with a laudable throw of 88.17 meters in his second attempt.

Neeraj’s marks were: foul, 88.17m, 86.32m, 84.64m, 87.73m and 83.98m.

Chopra became the first Indian athlete to win a gold at the World Athletics Championships.

Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan finished a very close second with a best throw of 87.82m which made him the first ever medalist for Pakistan in the championship.

The Czech Republic’s Jakub Valence won bronze with a best throw of 86.67m. Jakub has a personal best score of 90.88m.

The two other Indians in the competition, Kishore Kumar Jena and DP Manu finished 5th and 6th with best throws of 84.77m (a personal best for Jena) and 84.14m.
