Uttar Pradesh: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday addressed people in flood-affected areas of Farrukhabad and assured affected families that the state government would stand by them during the crisis. He reviewed relief-related measures and highlighted steps being taken for families whose homes and land have been damaged or washed away in the floods.

Flood Victims to Get Houses and Land Leases

Addressing the gathering, Yogi Adityanath said eligible families affected by the floods were being provided land leases along with houses under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme.

The Chief Minister assured flood victims that they should not worry about the difficult situation and said the government would provide necessary support to help affected families rebuild their lives.

Immediate Plan for Repair of Flood-Damaged Roads

Yogi Adityanath also directed the Farrukhabad district administration to prepare an immediate action plan in coordination with elected representatives for the repair of roads damaged by floodwaters.

He instructed officials to begin reconstruction work through the Public Works Department (PWD) as soon as the water recedes. The objective, he said, is to restore transportation at the earliest and prevent further accidents and inconvenience to residents.

Focus on Farmers, Women, Youth and Poor Families

The Chief Minister said the government was committed to the welfare of poor families, women, farmers and young people. He highlighted various welfare initiatives being implemented under the BJP-led “double-engine” government.

He also referred to measures in the education sector, including cashless medical facilities for teachers and other education employees. According to the Chief Minister, such initiatives are aimed at reducing unnecessary concerns for teachers so they can focus on students and their future.

Yogi Targets Previous SP Government

During his address, Yogi Adityanath also targeted the previous Samajwadi Party government, alleging that a “syndicate” had dominated the recruitment process before 2017.

He warned that anyone attempting to interfere with employment opportunities would face strict action. The Chief Minister also said that such action could include the seizure of property.

UP Flood Situation Remains a Challenge

Yogi Adityanath’s visit comes as several parts of Uttar Pradesh continue to face flood-related challenges. In many affected areas, submerged regions, damaged roads and disruption to normal life have created difficulties for residents.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the government would continue to support flood-affected families and take steps to restore essential infrastructure as the situation improves.
