A disturbing road-rage incident on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road has sparked concern over road safety after a woman riding a sports motorcycle was allegedly hit by a car following her and her biking group. The incident, involving a woman identified as Sia, was captured on camera and later shared online, drawing widespread attention.
According to reports, Sia was riding an Aprilia RS 457 with other members of a biking group when a Haryana-registered car began following them. The vehicle allegedly remained unusually close to the riders, creating an uncomfortable and potentially dangerous situation. Sia reportedly asked the occupants of the car to maintain a safe distance and stay away from the group.
Instead of moving away, the car allegedly continued to follow the bikers. The situation reportedly became increasingly tense as the riders continued along Golf Course Road. Sia said she did not want to stop and confront the people inside the vehicle because she felt unsafe.
A friend riding behind her reportedly tried to act as a protective barrier between Sia and the car. Despite the efforts to avoid a confrontation, the vehicle allegedly moved toward Sia’s motorcycle and struck it.
The impact threw the woman off her sports bike and caused the motorcycle to slide along the road for several metres. Video footage of the incident reportedly shows the car moving into the biker’s path before the collision. The footage has become a key part of the public discussion surrounding the case.
What happened immediately afterward has also raised concerns. Reports say the car did not stop to assist the injured rider and instead fled the scene. Such conduct has intensified criticism of the alleged driver and raised questions about accountability in road-rage incidents.
Sia later spoke about the incident online and described how unsafe she felt on Gurugram roads. Her account attracted significant attention from fellow bikers and social media users, many of whom urged the authorities to identify the vehicle and take appropriate action.
The episode has also renewed debate over the safety of two-wheeler riders in busy urban areas. Motorcyclists are considerably more vulnerable than occupants of cars during collisions. Even a relatively small impact can throw a rider onto the road and result in serious injuries.
The incident is particularly concerning because it allegedly began with something as basic as a request to maintain a safe distance. Road users are expected to respect one another’s space, especially when travelling at speed. Following another vehicle aggressively or attempting to force it to stop can quickly turn a traffic disagreement into a dangerous confrontation.
Police are expected to examine the available video footage and other evidence as part of the investigation. The incident has also led to calls for stronger enforcement against reckless driving and road rage.
For many road users, the case is a reminder that an ordinary journey can become dangerous within seconds when patience and basic traffic discipline disappear. The focus now remains on identifying the car and determining exactly what happened before, during and after the collision.
