New Delhi : On Sunday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that a US F-22 fighter jet had shot down an unidentified flying object. Trudeau confirmed that the object was flying high above the Yukon and that he had ordered its takedown. He took to Twitter to say, “I ordered the take down of an unidentified object that violated Canadian airspace. @NORADCommand shot down the object over the Yukon. Canadian and US aircraft were scrambled, and a US F-22 successfully fired at the object.”

In a subsequent tweet, Trudeau stated that he had spoken with President Biden and that Canadian forces would now be responsible for recovering and analyzing the wreckage of the object. He thanked NORAD for their role in monitoring North America.

This latest action follows a similar event that occurred less than a week prior, when a US military fighter jet shot down an unknown object flying off the northern coast of Alaska, as per President Biden’s orders.
