The coronation of King Charles III and his wife Camilla took place in London in a ceremony on 6 May 2023.
Prince Charles was next in line to the throne and was crowned king after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.

After the death of Queen Elizabeth, her son King Charles not only succeeded as the British monarch but as monarch of 14 other Commonwealth realms, from Australia to Jamaica. Therefore, he became king and head of state for some 150 million people in the Commonwealth realms.

As of 2023, there are 15 Commonwealth realms: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, the Bahamas, Belize, Canada, Grenada, jamaica, new Zealand, Papua new guinea, saint kitts and Nevis, saint lucia, saint vincent, and Grenadines, Soloman islands, Tuvalu and the united kingdom
