New Delhi: As a precautionary measure, the operations of the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv choppers have been temporarily halted by the Indian defence officials. The move comes after a technical glitch was reported in one of the choppers during a routine training exercise.

The ALH Dhruv choppers are widely used by the Indian armed forces for various operations, including rescue and medical evacuation missions, as well as for transportation of troops and equipment.

According to the officials, the decision to halt the operations was taken to ensure the safety of the pilots and crew members. The affected choppers will undergo a thorough inspection and maintenance before being cleared for operations again.

The ALH Dhruv is a multi-role, indigenous helicopter developed by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in India. It is widely regarded as one of the most advanced helicopters in its class and has been exported to several countries, including Ecuador, Nepal, and Mauritius.

The Indian armed forces have a large fleet of ALH Dhruv choppers, which are used for various operations, including surveillance, reconnaissance, and anti-submarine warfare. The temporary halt of operations is not expected to have a significant impact on the overall operational capability of the armed forces.
