On Saturday, Manish Sisodia left his home for Tihar Jail without seeing his ill wife, who had been sent to Delhi’s LNJP hospital due to a decline in her condition. In the Delhi Excise Policy Case, the former deputy chief minister of Delhi was given temporary reprieve for 7 hours so that he may visit his unwell wife.

After being given bail between 10 am and 5 pm, Sisodia arrived at his home in Delhi’s Mathura Road in the morning but was unable to see his ailing wife. Multiple sclerosis, a condition that affects the brain and central nervous system and has the potential to be crippling, affects Sisodia’s wife.

According to information, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader was transported back to Tihar Jail after being kept in house custody at his home.

Manish Sisodia requested temporary release on bail for six weeks due to his wife’s failing health. The Delhi High Court has deferred the ruling on the bail request and requested information from the LNJP hospital regarding the condition of the petitioner’s ill wife.

Although Sisodia returned home, his legal representative told the court that he was unable to see his wife since she had to be rushed to LNJP hospital when her condition worsened. The top court requested her hospital’s medical report.

Sisodia was still under house arrest at his Mathura Road home, and he was only permitted to interact with his family. He was also prohibited from using the Internet or communicating with the press.
The CBI detained Manish Sisodia on February 26 in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy investigation. After lengthy questioning at Tihar Jail on March 9, the ED detained Manish Sisodia in connection with the same case.

On November 17, 2021, the Delhi government introduced a new alcohol policy, however, due to suspicions of corruption, it was abandoned by the end of September 2022. The CBI and the Enforcement Directorate are looking into the senior AAP politician on allegations of corruption and money laundering.
