Every entrepreneur aspires to rule their industry, but not everyone has been successful in doing so. However, individuals that succeed in their sector serve as role models for young people today. Eventually, it is really challenging to become one of the top entrepreneurs after coming from a different background. Today, we’re going to present you to a female entrepreneur who, while coming from a different background, dominated this industry and emerged as India’s most successful and goal-oriented businesswoman ‘Vaanika Malik’. So lets know about her inspiring journey today. Vaanika is a Graduate in Economics & Entrepreneurship from Jesus & merry college, Delhi University & completed her Fashion Diploma from Pearl academy of fashion, Delhi.

There was was a young woman named Vaanika Malik who loved fashion. Since she was in school, she had always wanted to start her own clothes company, but it wasn’t an easy decision because she got married young, at age 20. In 2006, she began creating kurtis while exploring different locations in quest of the suitable fabrics. She used to create and design them before having an outside tailor sew them for her because she lacked the money to build her own unit.

Vaanika continued despite her challenges. She exhibited locally, sold her Kurtis and tunics, and gradually grew her company. In 2007, with some financial assistance from her father, she purchased a single machine, hired a master tailor, a woman assistant, and four workers who handled hand embroidery, all of whom were housed in a single spare room at her house. As a result, she began creating unstitched suits with embroidery, which she then sold to her father’s retail store as well as another shop in South Ex.

Vaanika Malik had to carry suitcases full of suits to several retailers, which caused numerous difficulties and inconveniences. By now, she was going to have a baby. She struggled to get her creations in front of the proper customers since retailers frequently treated her badly. She, however, was determined not to let their behaviour depress her. As she persisted in her efforts, her company grew. With the money she made, she bought additional machinery, recruited more workers, and moved her business’ employees into the basement of her house.

In 2011, Vaanika started making ready-made garments like Lehanga and Suits which were in high demand. She continued putting in a lot of effort, and her company grew. She established her business and began seeking clients. The moment she found her first customer in the UK was the biggest turning point. As awareness of her designs spread, she was introduced to a representative who put her in touch with other renowned retail establishments in Punjab. She began providing for them, and as demand grew, she added additional employees. After an 8-year journey, she eventually prepared herself and convinced her husband and family to enter a larger market.

With the help of her family, Vaanika purchased a factory in 2018 and built it over the course of a year. She had to deal with several legal departments during this building trip, which was a learning lesson in itself. Although it was a very difficult journey, Vaanika completed it with the encouragement of her family friends. Finally, they welcomed her clients to her new location in August 2019. She currently employs 50 people internally and 75 outside, and she has many divisions, including creative design, sewing and finishing, quality control, embroidery, and fabric purchasing.

The young woman’s journey entailed a lot of effort, perseverance, and sacrifice. Her love of fashion blossomed into a prosperous company, and she continues to reflect on her path and be in awe of how far she has come from the one room where she began. She wants her experience to encourage people to pursue their aspirations no matter how challenging things may seem.

Vaanika’s vision is to become a leading fashion brand that empowers women and generates jobs while setting the standard for excellence in the fashion industry. We aim to achieve this by: Creating jobs: Empowering women: Being the best in the world of fashion: Financial independence: People should look upto our brand: Our ultimate goal is to become a fashion brand that is not only financially successful but also one that makes a positive impact on the lives of our employees, customers and the community.
