Hardik Pandya fined for slow over-rate in IPL match

New Delhi: Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya has been fined INR 12 lakhs for maintaining a slow over-rate during the match against Punjab Kings in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Hardik is the captain of the Mumbai Indians team, and the fine was imposed by match referee Manu Nayyar. According to the IPL code of conduct, players are fined INR 6 lakhs for the first offense of a slow over-rate and an additional INR 6 lakhs for the second offense.

If the captain is found guilty of maintaining a slow over-rate for the third time in a season, he is suspended for one match. The Mumbai Indians lost the match against Punjab Kings by 9 wickets on April 7, 2023, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
