New Delhi : Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, was asked to appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday for questioning in connection with the investigation of the now-withdrawn liquor policy of Delhi. However, Sisodia requested more time, citing his work on the Delhi budget. The CBI rescheduled his questioning to 26 February, and Sisodia alleged that the BJP was behind the notice, claiming that they were trying to halt development works in Delhi. As the finance minister of Delhi, Sisodia said that if he was arrested, the development works would be derailed, and he requested seven days’ time to join the investigation. The CBI accepted his request, and Sisodia is set to be questioned on 26 February.

Earlier, the CBI had summoned Sisodia to appear before them on Sunday at 11 a.m. On Saturday, Sisodia accused the CBI of deliberately attempting to stop development works in Delhi. In a tweet, he said that the CBI had put their full force against him and that they had raided his home and searched his bank locker, but they did not find anything. He added that he had made arrangements for the best education system in Delhi, which the CBI wanted to stop, but he would continue to support their investigation.

In another development, the CBI interrogated Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain about Vijay Nair and related matters at Tihar Jail on Wednesday. The investigation is ongoing, and it remains to be seen what further developments will take place in this case.
