Suga, rapper in the South Korean boyband BTS, has started the process of military enlistment.
Bighit, BTS record label ,made the announcement on Weverse via a post stating the termination of Suga’s enlistment postponement.
The company assured the fans to have them updated on information about the artist and asked for their continued love and support for the artist.
South Korea’s law makes it mandatory for citizens to receive military training between the age of 18 and 28.
In 2020, the country had passed a law that allowed BTS to postpone their military service until they reached the age of 30.
The announcement comes after the artist wrapped the Asian leg of his tour supporting his solo album D-Day.
Suga hinted about his enlistment to his fans directly in a live after his concert.
Before ending his live he said “I think it’s a lie if I say ‘soon, ‘Let’s see each other in 2025, OK? Please wait a little bit..2025. See you then!“

Other members of the group, JIN and J-HOPE have already enlisted for their mandatory service.
