Delhi HC refuses keep on defamation proceedings towards BJP chief Sirsa

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Excessive Courtroom has refused to remain felony proceedings towards BJP chief Manjinder Singh Sirsa in a defamation case filed by the previous president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Administration Committee, Manjit Singh G.Okay.

Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma upheld the trial courtroom’s order that maintained the summons issued to Sirsa by an ACMM courtroom.

The courtroom famous that, at this stage, it discovered no causes to remain the proceedings within the defamation case.

It stated that the trial courtroom had examined the problem of FIR registration and simultaneous proceedings for defamation associated to a letter dated April 4, 2016.

“…this Courtroom finds that the discovered ASJ has examined intimately, the problem of registration of FIR in relation to letter dated 04.04.2016 and simultaneous proceedings within the current grievance case for fee of offence of defamation, ” the courtroom stated.

The courtroom clarified that its observations had been prima facie and shouldn’t be construed as an opinion on the deserves of the case.

Within the case, Singh alleged that Sirsa and different accused people defamed him recurrently via social media posts, movies, and press conferences.

The courtroom acknowledged that the offence of defamation on this case was not a one-time occasion in 2020, and there was no infirmity with the trial courtroom’s observations.
