New Delhi: The Supreme Court will hear a petition filed by Kerala Film Producers Association challenging the ban imposed by the West Bengal government and theatre owners in Tamil Nadu on the release of the Malayalam film ‘The Great Indian Kitchen.’

The film, which has already been released in Kerala and received critical acclaim, explores the role of women in Indian households and their struggle for equality. The petition argues that the ban is a violation of freedom of speech and expression and seeks the court’s intervention to ensure the film’s release across India. The hearing is scheduled for Friday, May 12th.
