Mumbai: Veteran actress Shabana Azmi took to Twitter to support the upcoming Malayalam film ‘The Kerala Story’. The actress, who is known for her strong opinions, tweeted in response to a user who called for a ban on the film.

In her tweet, Shabana Azmi wrote that freedom of expression is a fundamental right and that the film should not be banned. She also added that those who want to ban the film should watch it first and then make a decision.

‘The Kerala Story’ has been in the news recently for its controversial subject matter, which deals with the issue of love jihad. The film has faced criticism from several groups who claim that it promotes communal disharmony.

However, the makers of the film have defended their work, saying that it is a work of fiction and that they have no intention of hurting anyone’s sentiments.

The film stars a talented cast including Parvathy Thiruvothu, Roshan Mathew, Tovino Thomas, and Asif Ali. It is directed by Mahesh Narayanan and produced by Anto Joseph.
