Gurugram : In a heart-wrenching incident, a 10-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped, sodomised and killed in Gurugram, Haryana, with his body being found in the bushes near IMT Manesar. The accused, a 24-year-old man named Prince, has been arrested. The incident reportedly took place on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, as reported by the police.

The accused had earlier resided near the victim’s house, and the boy’s parents approached the police after he went missing at around 5:30 PM on Sunday. The minor’s father had filed a complaint stating that his son had stepped out of their rented accommodation in the Sector 10 area to play outside but could not be found anywhere.

The family later received a ransom call from an unknown number around 7:30 PM on Sunday, demanding Rs 2 lakh for the boy’s release. The police set up a trap and nabbed the caller from IMT Manesar. The accused, Prince, later admitted to sodomising the victim and killed him by slitting his throat with a knife, fearing he would reveal everything to others.

After the autopsy, the boy’s body was handed over to his family. The police are interrogating the accused to ascertain if he had committed such crimes in the past. The weapon used in the crime has been recovered from the accused.
