Vantika becomes 11th woman to achieve International Master title

Vantika Agrawal is the new Indian woman No.3 in Chess and the 11th Indian woman to achieve the International Master title.
She has played 4 International tournaments previously where she has increased her FIDE rating by 61 points.
She has also won a bronze medal in the National Women’s Championship held in Kohlapur in Jan 2023 and a gold medal for the Airport Authority of India in Feb 2023.

“It’s an amazing feeling to become India No. 3. Honestly, I knew that I will do this but wasn’t expecting it to happen this quickly. I managed to increase rankings in the last four tournaments and get this spot,” the Noida resident Vantika Agrawal expressed her joy.

In 2021 Vantika Agrawal won a silver medal in the Indian Junior Girls Online Chess Championship and won the gold medal in Indian Junior Senior Women Chess Championship. In the same year, she also won FIDE Binance Business Schools Supercup.

In November 2021 in Riga Vantika Agrawal ranked in 14th place in FIDE Women’s Grand Swiss Tournament 2021.

She received the Woman Grandmaster (WGM) title in 2021 and the Woman International Master (WIM) title in 2017.

In 2016, Agrawal won a bronze medal in the World Youth Chess Championship U14 girl’s age group.
