Washington: On Friday, the United States lifted the COVID testing requirement for travelers from China, which was imposed in January amid a surge in infections. The move means that air travelers from China no longer need to present a negative COVID-19 test report before boarding their flights. The requirement, which expired for flights leaving after 3 p.m. Eastern time on Friday, was put in place to protect U.S. citizens and communities due to concerns about the lack of transparency from the Chinese government regarding the true number of infections and deaths.
