Shikha Chauhan has captured hearts with her performance in Thukra Ke Mera Pyar (TKMP). In this exclusive interview, she opens up about her character, the unique aspects of the series, and the journey that made this project unforgettable.
Can you tell us a bit about your character in Thukra Ke Mera Pyar? How did you connect with her and her journey?
“I play Neha, an introvert who is intelligent, honest, and deeply supportive, especially to her friend Shanvika. She’s blunt but caring and has a clear vision about her life. While I’m an extrovert in real life, I connected with Neha’s focus and honesty. Playing her taught me a lot about being quiet and centered—qualities I admire in her.”
What do you think sets Thukra Ke Mera Pyar apart from other romantic dramas? What unique elements does it bring to the table?
“TKMP is not your typical romantic drama. It’s a story where every character has a unique arc and depth. It’s not just about the hero and heroine; everyone’s journey matters. The series is packed with emotions, drama, and surprises, which I think will resonate deeply with the audience.”
What kind of reactions have you received from the audience so far? Are there any particular comments or messages that have stood out to you?
“The response has been overwhelming. I honestly didn’t expect my character, Neha, to get so much love. People are tagging me in their stories and posts, showering me with heartfelt messages. It’s incredibly humbling and motivates me to keep pushing my boundaries.”
How was your experience working on this series? What did you learn from the process, and who were some of your favorite co-stars?
“This project is very close to my heart. I grew up near Lucknow and studied there, so shooting in my city brought a wave of nostalgia. We shot in places where I once studied and hung out—it was surreal.
I loved working with everyone. Sanchita and Dhaval are incredibly kind, and Rohan, who plays Pintu, is one of my favorites—not just for his talent but for his honesty and dedication. Sushil sir and Anirudh were so present and inspiring on set, while Kapil kept us all laughing. It was a joy working with such talented people.”
Was there a special moment during the filming of Thukra Ke Mera Pyar that stands out to you?
“This project is incredibly special to me because, on the day of Rakshabandhan, my parents visited the set and watched me perform. It was an emotional and proud moment for all of us. Having them there, witnessing my work firsthand, made the experience even more memorable and close to my heart.”
Do you have any specific roles or genres you’d like to explore in the future?
“I’m drawn to thrillers and sci-fi—they fascinate me. That said, I want to explore everything. As an actor, there’s no limit to learning and experimenting, and I’m excited for the endless possibilities.”
How do you balance your personal life with your demanding acting career?
“Balancing personal and professional life is a work in progress for me. I often find myself struggling to keep them separate, but I’m learning. Hopefully, with time, I’ll get better at it.”
How important is social media to you? Do you enjoy interacting with your fans and followers?
“Social media is both a blessing and a challenge. Sometimes, it feels like the most important thing, and at other times, I need a break from it. I prefer personal interactions but deeply value the support and love I get from my online community. Their encouragement keeps me going.”
Can you give us a hint about any upcoming projects or roles that you’re excited about?
“I have two very special projects in the pipeline. Both are quite different from anything I’ve done before. While I can’t reveal much, I’m thrilled and can’t wait to share them with everyone!”
With her talent and charisma, she’s surely a name to watch out for. Thukra Ke Mera Pyar is streaming now, and it’s a must-watch for anyone who loves a story with depth, emotion, and unforgettable characters.
