Hyderabad : Sania Mirza, a prominent tennis player, has been named the mentor of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in the upcoming season of the Women’s Premier League. This news has been welcomed as a heartwarming move and a great motivation for the players. Mirza’s love for cricket is no secret, and she has often been seen at cricket venues. Mirza will be part of the RCB franchise after playing her last tournament in Dubai.
In her latest tennis appearance at the Australian Open, Mirza reached the final of the mixed doubles event with Rohan Bopanna. After the match, Sania expressed her joy, saying, “It was an amazing match, there were a lot of nerves. It’s my last slam, and it’s so special to play with Rohan. He was my first mixed doubles partner when I was 14, and today I’m 36, and he is 42, and we are still playing, we have a solid relationship.” Mirza has won a total of six Grand Slam titles, three of which are mixed doubles trophies that she won with Mahesh Bhupathi (2009 Australian Open, 2012 French Open) and Brazilian Bruno Soares (2014 US Open).
