Jaipur: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot, went on a 24-hour hunger strike against corruption in the Vasundhara Raje government on Monday, April 11th. The hunger strike took place in front of the Rajsamand district collectorate office.
During the protest, Pilot criticized the state government for its inability to control corruption and for ignoring the welfare of farmers and other marginalized groups. He also accused the government of being insensitive towards people’s problems and being involved in various scams and scandals.
Pilot was accompanied by several Congress party leaders, including former MP Raghuveer Meena and former Minister Laxminarayan Dave. Supporters also gathered at the hunger strike venue in large numbers to show their support.
Pilot said that the Vasundhara Raje government has failed to fulfill its promises to the people and has neglected the state’s development. He added that the government has not taken any concrete steps to provide relief to farmers who are suffering due to drought and other issues.
Pilot demanded that the government take immediate action to address these issues and provide relief to the people of Rajasthan. He also demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged scams and scandals involving the state government.
The hunger strike by Sachin Pilot and the Congress party comes ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in the state, which are scheduled to take place in 2023. The Congress party hopes to capitalize on the growing discontent among the people of Rajasthan against the Vasundhara Raje government and win the elections.
