Priyanka Chopra Clarifies Why She Spoke Up About Bollywood Controversy

Mumbai: Priyanka Chopra Jonas has recently spoken out about being trapped in Bollywood by a particular group of powerful individuals, sparking controversy. However, the global star has now clarified why she chose to come forward at this time. Speaking to the media at the Asia-Pacific press conference for her upcoming lead role in Citadel, Priyanka stated that she felt it was a safe space to open up about the rocky patch in her professional journey. The actress explained that she spoke about her journey from childhood through the initial phase of her career, leading up to the incident that changed a few things for her. Although she had tumultuous times in the past, she now feels confident to speak up and hopes that people will take notice and understand where she’s coming from.

Citadel, a sci-fi spy thriller series in which Priyanka plays the lead role opposite Richard Madden, is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 28. The show is a six-episode-long series that will be available in various languages.

Priyanka Chopra and her singer husband Nick Jonas are currently in India with their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. They recently attended the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center (NMACC) gala event in Mumbai, turning heads. The actress might stay a little longer in Mumbai due to her cousin Parineeti Chopra’s impending engagement with politician Raghav Chadha in the first week of April.
