​PM Modi-led Yoga Session at UN Creates Guinness World Record

A Guinness World Record for having the most people of all nations attend a yoga celebration was set on Wednesday at the UN headquarters in this city under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden invited Mr. Modi to come to the United States for his first state visit, and he is currently here on that leg of his trip. Mr. Modi presided over a historic ceremony to mark the 9th International Day of Yoga at the UN Headquarters in this city.

According to organizers, the Prime Minister Modi-led Yoga celebration at the UN headquarters set a Guinness World Record for having participants from the most different nations.
The Prime Minister thanked everyone for traveling a long distance to attend the event while donning a special white yoga T-shirt and pair of trousers.

“It makes me happy to see you all. And I appreciate your attendance. Friends. Almost every nationality is represented here today, I’ve been told,” Mr. Modi said to the crowd.

He was joined by the mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, the deputy secretary general, Amina Mohammed, and Csaba Korisi, the president of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
