In Weightlifting, Indian weightlifters finished the Asian Weightlifting Championships 2023 in Jinju, South Korea, with three silver medals.
Ajith Narayana and Achinta Sheuli were the only two Indian weightlifters competing in the men’s 73kg category.
Ajith Narayana topped Group B with a combined lift of 307kg.
Achinta Sheuli, meanwhile, finished second in Group B with a total lift of 305kg.
A total of six Indian weightlifters competed at the continental championships, which is second in the series of qualifying events for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Asian Weightlifting Championships 2023 will run till May 13 but India doesn’t have any representation in any of the remaining categories.
