From a childhood filled with curiosity to leading roles in major OTT shows, Rrama Sharma has come a long way. Born in Gujarat and raised across different states due to her army background, she was exposed to diverse cultures early on. Now, she is making waves in the entertainment industry with her dedication and passion for acting. In this candid interview, Rrama opens up about her journey, challenges, and aspirations.
A Born Performer: The Journey Begins
“I was always a talkative child, full of curiosity. Unlike others, I wasn’t drawn to just one thing—I wanted to explore everything from playing the tabla and congo to dancing, painting, and theatre. While I was an average student, I was popular in school because of my outgoing nature,” Rrama recalls.
It was theatre that eventually captured her heart. “Once I stepped onto the stage, I knew this was where I belonged. That feeling never left me,” she adds.
Breaking into the Industry: From First Audition to Big Break
Rrama’s first audition was for a theatre play in Delhi’s Mandi House. “That was the beginning of my real journey. Later, I auditioned for a TV commercial and cracked it. But my big moment was ‘Nishedh S2’ in 2022, and now ‘Medical Dreams,’ where I play the lead alongside Sharman Joshi Sir. Seeing myself on the poster was surreal!” she shares.
Most Challenging Role: Becoming Shree
Playing Shree in Medical Dreams was a challenge unlike any other. “She’s completely different from me—calm and composed. The show revolves around NEET aspirants, and I never studied science, so I had to learn medical terminologies and pronunciations. It was tough, but I loved the process,” Rrama says.

Defining Projects: Roles That Changed Everything
Two projects stand out in Rrama’s career—Maamla Legal Hai and Taaza Khabar S2. “Both had massive reach due to their platforms. My characters, Guddo and Sangeeta, received great appreciation, and after that, I started getting bigger opportunities,” she notes.
The Art of Preparing for a Role
Rrama follows a deep research-based approach when preparing for her characters. “I believe in experiencing my character’s emotions before the actual shoot. I observe people, read, and rehearse to get into the skin of the role. Acting is more than just memorizing lines; it’s about living the character,” she explains.
Choosing the Right Projects
She follows her instincts while selecting scripts. “If a script excites me during the audition, I go for it. The length of the role doesn’t matter to me—it’s about impact. If I don’t feel a connection, I don’t invest my time,” she asserts.
Memorable Moments on Set
Rrama shares a couple of unforgettable incidents. “During a student short film shoot in 2018, everyone called me by my character’s name, ‘KoKo,’ for ten days straight! They even searched for ‘KoKo’ on social media to find me.”
Another memory from Medical Dreams touched her heart. “We were shooting in Kota, and a guy waited for three hours just to click a picture with me. That moment was overwhelming,” she says with a smile.
The Biggest Misconception About the Industry
“A lot of people think there’s a fixed formula for success in this industry. But the truth is, there isn’t. Everyone has their own journey, and talent finds its way sooner or later,” Rrama clarifies.
OTT vs. Theatre: The Changing Landscape
Post-pandemic, OTT platforms have taken over, and Rrama believes the balance between theatre and digital content is still evolving. “Both have their uniqueness. Audiences now prefer the comfort of OTT, but the magic of cinema will always remain. It’s hard to predict where the industry will be in ten years, but growth is inevitable,” she reflects.
Advice for Aspiring Actors
“Focus on your craft. The glamour will come as a byproduct. When there’s no work, that’s the time to sharpen your skills—read, explore, practice, and take risks,” she advises.
Beyond Acting: Personal Interests & Future Goals
When she isn’t working, Rrama loves traveling, reading, and connecting with creative people. “I want to work with directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Vishal Bhardwaj, and Imtiaz Ali. I aim to be in the A-list league while staying true to my craft.”
On a personal level, she aspires for something beyond just fame. “I want to be remembered not just as a great actor but also as a good human being,” she concludes.
With her dedication and clear vision, Rrama Sharma is a name to watch out for in the entertainment industry.
