Film Rating : ⭐⭐⭐⭐( 4 stars)

Story : Set in 1995 in a village of Punjab, the main leads embody their roles perfectly. Vicky Kaushal in his limited screentime is a standout and his portrayal of a Punjabi ‘munda’ is top-notch. Anil Grover and Vikram Kochhar do well in their roles too and are definitely two actors to watch out for in the future. Boman Irani, as the IELTS teacher, is also nice to watch and his scenes involving SRK will remind you of classics, like Main Hoon Na.

Performance : Taapsee Pannu, as the leading lady, will surprise you in a positive way. Her chemistry with SRK looks very natural and the duo dazzle on screen. SRK shines throughout the film, especially in the older scenes, where he looks more comfortable. Needless to say, his younger portion looks nice as well and kudos to the VFX team for making him look natural. His Punjabi accent is like Aamir Khan’s in Laal Singh Chaddha: ‘A’ for effort and that’s about it. There comes a point where it sounds borderline cringe but it’s not awful.

Behind The Scene : The music by Pritam is surprisingly good. From the upbeat track of ‘Lutt Putt Gaya’ to Diljit’s spunky ‘Banda’ to the multiple romantic/emotional tracks, all songs fit in nicely with the screenplay. The strong writing goes to show the extensive research that was put in to the write this film’s script. The editing is decent (better than the trailer for show) but nothing extraordinary. The cinematography and colour grading complement each other perfectly and really enhance the overall experience.

My Words : Dunki is triumph, masterpiece, outstanding. So far bollywood’s best movie ever till date. 5 star is the least I can give although this movie deserves grace stars as well. What can I say about this masterpice, just now left the theater with tears. This movies makes you smile, makes you laugh, makes you emotional, makes you cry, makes you feel patriotic, and eventually makes you realise about homecoming. Old Srk’s entry shot in the feild is amazingly shot by RKH. Srk was charming, enthusiastic, and sentimental as Hardy. Punjabi Accent doesn’t come naturally to him but still he did a good job with his accent. In emotional scenes and dramatic scenes, no one can match SRK’S intensity. His eyes emotes everything. Vicky Kaushal shines supremely. He has few scenes in first half and have some flashback scenes. There is one drunken scene between Srk and Vicky where he overshadowed Srk. You never want that scene to end. Its so so so good. Taapse looked natural and she played her character very well. Boman Irani and other supporting character also did a very good job.
I am short of words for Rajkumar Hirani. He is an institution of filmmaking. His best work till date. He made each scene magical, entertaining yet so realistic. If i have to rank Raju Hirani movie till date, it will be:
1: Dunki
2: 3 Idiots
3: PK
4: Munna Bhai MBBS
5: Lage Raho munna bhai
6: Sanju

Songs and bgm was so amazing and impactful. “Nikle the kabhi hum Ghar se” and “Chal ve vatana will make you cry”. “Lutt putt geya” makes you smile. “Mahi ve” makes you fall in love with Srk once again.

Box Office Prediction : Movie will Blockbuster create a new benchmark with biggest actor and director. Possibilities are come true.

Day 1: 45 cr nett

Weekend: 190 – 210 cr nett

Lifetime: 390 – 440 cr nett

Let’s enjoy the best film of 2023 from the biggest director and actor of Indian Cinema, This combination are waited for last 20 years!

Verdict : Overall, Dunki is the perfect family entertainer that will remained etched in viewer’s minds for years to come.
