Delhi HC grants divorce to man over psychological cruelty by spouse’s ‘non-adjusting perspective’

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Excessive Courtroom has granted divorce to a person, citing psychological cruelty inflicted by his spouse’s “non-adjusting perspective”.

A division bench of Justices Suresh Kumar Kait and Neena Kumar Bansal put aside a household courtroom order that had initially refused the divorce plea by the husband.

The courtroom allowed the husband’s enchantment, saying that sustained and unjustifiable conduct affecting the bodily and psychological well being of a partner can represent psychological cruelty.

The couple, married in 2001, separated after 16 years of dwelling collectively. The husband alleged cruelty by his spouse, whereas the spouse claimed that he and his household demanded dowry.

The excessive courtroom concluded that the discord between the events was not regular put on and tear of marriage however acts of cruelty towards the husband.

It said that the spouse’s unproved allegations of dowry calls for and baseless accusations of the husband having illicit relationships with colleagues and buddies brought about psychological ache, constituting grave cruelty.
