New Delhi: Businesses across India will have to pay more for commercial cooking gas from September 1, 2026, after Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) increased the prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders. The latest revision has pushed up prices across several major cities.
However, there is some relief for household consumers as the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged at Rs 942.
The latest commercial LPG price revision comes after prices were reduced consecutively in July and August. Restaurants, hotels, caterers and other businesses that depend heavily on commercial LPG cylinders are likely to feel the impact of the latest hike.
Commercial LPG Cylinder Price in Delhi
In New Delhi, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased by Rs 9.50 to Rs 2,747.50.
Mumbai has also witnessed a hike of Rs 9.50, taking the price to Rs 2,701. In Kolkata, the cylinder is now priced at Rs 2,884, following an increase of Rs 11.50.
In Chennai, the price has risen by Rs 10.50 to Rs 2,916.50.

Patna Has the Highest Commercial LPG Price
Among the cities listed, Patna has the highest commercial LPG cylinder price at Rs 3,029 after an increase of Rs 11.
Hyderabad’s commercial LPG cylinder now costs Rs 2,996, while businesses in Bhubaneswar will have to pay Rs 2,919.
Domestic LPG Cylinder Price Remains Unchanged
Household consumers will not face any additional burden in September. The price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged at Rs 942.
The last increase in domestic LPG prices came in June, when the rate was raised by Rs 29. Before that, domestic LPG prices were increased by Rs 60 in March.
Petrol and diesel prices have also remained unchanged in the latest revision.
Restaurants and Hotels May Face Higher Costs
The increase in commercial LPG prices is likely to affect restaurants, hotels, caterers and other businesses that use LPG for large-scale cooking.
Although the latest increase ranges between Rs 9.50 and Rs 11.50 across the listed cities, businesses that consume several cylinders regularly could see their overall fuel expenses rise.
The September hike comes after two consecutive months of reductions in commercial LPG prices, highlighting the volatility in fuel costs faced by commercial consumers.
Government Focuses on Increasing Domestic LPG Production
The latest price revision comes amid the government’s efforts to strengthen domestic LPG production capacity and reduce dependence on imports.
On August 13, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas fixed maximum LPG production levels for 21 refineries and upstream companies. Their combined production potential has been estimated at 63,810 tonnes per day.
The government is seeking to strengthen India’s domestic LPG supply and improve energy security amid concerns over dependence on imported cooking gas, particularly from the Middle East.
