New Delhi: Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, held a roadshow in Mangaluru ahead of the upcoming Karnataka state elections. Speaking to the crowd gathered to see him, Shah urged voters to support the “double engine” government of the BJP, which currently holds power at both the state and central levels.
During the roadshow, Shah rode in an open jeep and waved to supporters, who cheered and chanted slogans in support of the BJP. He also addressed the crowd at several stops along the route, highlighting the achievements of the BJP government and promising further development if they were re-elected.
Shah’s visit to Mangaluru comes as part of the BJP’s campaign efforts in the lead-up to the elections, which are set to take place on May 12. The party is hoping to retain power in Karnataka, where it won a majority in the last elections in 2018.
The “double engine” government refers to the BJP’s control of both the state and central governments, which Shah argued would enable them to work more effectively and efficiently for the benefit of the people of Karnataka. He also criticized the opposition parties, accusing them of being unable to provide a strong and stable government.
The roadshow was attended by a large number of supporters, as well as local BJP leaders and candidates. It is one of several campaign events that the party has planned in the run-up to the elections, as they seek to rally support and secure a second term in power.
