Agra: The devotional film Hanuman Ansh has sparked an unusual wave of devotion inside theatres, with audiences reportedly removing their footwear and chanting the Hanuman Chalisa during screenings. A new video reportedly filmed at Sarv Multiplex in Agra shows a packed auditorium joining together in prayers, with chants of “Bolo Pawan Putra Hanuman Ki Jai” and “Jai Shri Ram” echoing through the theatre.

Videos from theatres have been capturing emotional and devotional reactions to Hanuman Ansh. In the latest viral clip from Agra, an apparently housefull auditorium can be seen participating in the Hanuman Chalisa during the screening.
Several viewers were seen sitting barefoot, closing their eyes and praying, while others clapped along and joined the chants. The atmosphere inside the theatre appeared less like a conventional movie screening and more like a collective devotional gathering.
The video has quickly attracted attention on social media, adding to the growing buzz around the film.

This is not the first time that audience reactions to Hanuman Ansh have caught public attention. An earlier viral video showed a woman becoming emotional and crying while the Hanuman Chalisa played during the screening.

Hanuman Ansh reportedly had a modest start at the box office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected around Rs 0.12 crore gross and Rs 0.10 crore net on its opening day, August 7. The film initially released across 355 theatres.
However, its theatrical journey reportedly changed significantly over the following weeks. The film gradually attracted larger crowds and expanded its theatrical reach.
On the 29th day of its release, which was also its fifth Friday, Hanuman Ansh reportedly recorded Rs 11.80 crore gross and Rs 10.00 crore net. The film was screened across 5,055 shows that day.
According to the cited figures, the film’s total India gross collection has reached Rs 97.77 crore, while its India net collection stands at Rs 82.88 crore.
What Is Hanuman Ansh About?
Hanuman Ansh is a 2026 Hindi-language devotional drama directed by Dr Vishal Chaturvedi. The film is based on Chaturvedi’s book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life.
The story follows Lakshman Das, who later became known as Neem Karoli Baba. After losing his mother, he leaves his hometown in Braj while dealing with grief and begins a spiritual journey in search of divine connection with Lord Ram through Hanuman.
The film focuses on Neem Karoli Baba’s spiritual awakening, travels and experiences of what are described as silent miracles.
