A major development has emerged in the murder investigation of Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Balyan after two suspected shooters were killed in a police encounter in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district. The encounter came days after Balyan was shot dead outside a gym, an incident that shocked his fans and triggered widespread concern over law and order.

Police identified the two suspects as Mohit and Sumit, both residents of Sonipat in Haryana. According to reports, the two men were wanted in connection with the murder of the singer and carried rewards of ₹50,000 each. Police had been searching for the suspects following the shooting incident on August 26.

Ankit Balyan was reportedly leaving a gym in the Shamli Kotwali area when he was attacked. According to the investigation reported so far, four assailants allegedly arrived on two motorcycles and opened fire. Balyan suffered critical injuries and was rushed for medical treatment, but doctors later declared him dead.

The murder created a major sensation, particularly because Balyan had established himself as a popular figure in the Haryanvi entertainment industry and on social media. He was known not only as a singer but also as a YouTuber with a significant online following.

Following the killing, police launched a large-scale investigation to identify and trace those allegedly involved. CCTV footage and other evidence reportedly became important parts of the investigation. A video connected to the attack also circulated on social media, drawing widespread attention to the shocking nature of the crime.

The latest police operation in Shamli resulted in an exchange of fire between police personnel and the two suspects, according to official accounts reported by several news organisations. The suspects were injured during retaliatory police firing and were taken to hospital, where they were declared dead.

The encounter has been described as a significant breakthrough in the investigation. However, the case is far from over. Police are continuing their efforts to trace other people allegedly connected to the murder. Reports indicate that additional suspects remain at large, making their arrest a major priority for investigators.

The killing of Ankit Balyan had also generated anger among his family members and supporters. The family had demanded swift action against everyone responsible for the crime. The police encounter has therefore brought one major development in the case, although questions surrounding the complete conspiracy and motive remain under investigation.

The incident has once again placed the spotlight on violent crime involving public personalities and the challenges faced by law-enforcement agencies in tracking suspects across state borders. Since the suspects were reportedly from Haryana while the crime and encounter were linked to Uttar Pradesh, coordination between police agencies has become an important aspect of the investigation.

Authorities are now expected to focus on identifying the remaining accused, establishing the alleged motive behind the murder and determining whether other individuals played a role in planning or facilitating the attack.

For Ankit Balyan’s family, the police action represents progress, but the investigation will only be considered complete when all those responsible are identified and brought before the legal process. The case continues to attract public attention as investigators work to uncover the full story behind the killing of the popular Haryanvi singer.
