Modi’s Roadshow in Chennai, Another Breakthrough for BJP?

On Tuesday, Stalin-led Tamil Nadu’s public gathered in huge numbers for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Chennai. 

With the elections approaching, political parties have strengthened their efforts to appeal to the people and set their road to victory. PM Modi led a roadshow for 1.4 km with BJP state president from Tamil Nadu, K Annamalai and party candidate Tamilisai Soundararajan. This roadshow marked PM Modi’s first rally in the city after almost 10 years. The crowd welcomed PM Modi with folk dance performances, music and flowers setting the atmosphere like that of a festive season. The flower-showers and ‘modi-modi’ chants from the crowd gathered in large numbers on Thyagaraya Road of Pondy Bazaar in Chennai is a big boost for the BJP, ahead of the elections. Throughout the roadshow, Prime Minister Modi and BJP candidates prominently displayed their party’s symbol, the ‘lotus’, in their hands.

Responding to the success of the roadshow, PM Modi took to X to express the party’s vision to develop the state of Tamil Nadu by re-developing railway stations and launching key projects like Chennai-Bengaluru Expressway as reported by The Times of India. He also mentioned about launching a discovery campus at IIT Madras in order to promote innovation in the state, and also promised to address the issues that the state is prone to like disaster management.
