The President stated during his speech that the country’s overall progress depends on the speed of rural development. Modernising land records is essential for the development of rural areas because most rural residents depend on land resources for their livelihood. For the overall growth of rural areas, a comprehensive integrated land management system is crucial.
According to the President, digitisation fosters greater transparency. The nation’s development would be greatly impacted by the modernization and digitization of land records. The correct implementation of social programmes will be aided by the digitization of land records and their connections to other government agencies. Additionally, it would be quite beneficial in the event that disasters like floods and fire caused the loss of papers.
The President was pleased to learn that a Unique Land Parcel Identification Number, which might be beneficial like an Aadhaar Card, is being supplied under the Digital India Land Information Management System. She claimed that this figure will aid in developing and putting into effect new welfare plans as well as in making effective use of the lands. It would be beneficial in many ways for E-Courts to be connected to property records and registration databases. Digitalization’s increased openness will stop unethical and unlawful land-related activity.
According to the President, having easy, free access to information about land would have several advantages. For instance, it would assist in settling disagreements concerning the ownership and usage of land. She claimed that many people in our nation are involved in land-related conflicts, which take up a lot of the administration’s and the judiciary’s time. The energy of people and organizations, which is used up in settling disputes, might be put to use for development through digitalization and information links.
