Phase V of Sagar Parikrama is to be held from 17th-19th May

The Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying has announced the commencement of Phase-V of the Sagar Parikrama initiative.
The journey will start from Raigad, Maharashtra on 17 May and end in Canacona, Goa on 19 May 2023.

The aim of the initiative is to resolve the issues of the fishermen and other stakeholders and facilitate their economic upliftment through various fisheries schemes and programs, such as the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) and Kisan Credit Cards (KCC), among others. 

In a statement released by the Ministry, it informs that the initiative has successfully completed four phases, covering 19 locations in Gujarat, Daman, and Diu, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. The upcoming Phase-V will comprise six locations across the states of Maharashtra and Goa, i.e., Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg Districts in Maharashtra, and Vasco, Mormugao, and Canacona in Goa.
