11 dead in Punjab in a gas leak, Punjab govt. announces Rs. 2 lakhs ex-gratia.

11 people, including 3 minors were killed and 11 injured in an incident of gas leak in Punjab’s Ludhiana on Sunday. the diseases include six males and five females. most of the victims who died were migrant laborers.
the incident happened in Giaspura, a populated resident cum industrial area, at around 7:30.
the injured were rushed to a hospital, police said. a team of doctors and ambulances were also called to the spot immediately after the incident
the Punjab govt. has announced an ex gratia of rs.2 lakhs for the kin of each deceased and 50000 for the injured, Ludhiana deputy commissioner Surabhi Malik told news agency ANI.
a national disaster response force(NDRF) team is present at the spot for the rescue operation.
Ludhiana Police Commissioner Mandeep Singh Sidhu said a case would be registered.
“11 people, including five members of one family, died. The condition of the four people, who were admitted to the hospital, is serious. We are lodging a case at the concerned police station,” the city’s top cop said.
