Two killed and three injured in Mumbai stabbing spree by 54-year-old man

Mumbai: Police in Mumbai have reported a shocking incident in which a 54-year-old man, identified as Chetan Gala, went on a stabbing rampage on Friday. The attack, which took place in the Parvati Mansion building in the Grant Road neighbourhood, left two people dead and three others injured. The injured were quickly taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, with two of them said to be in a serious condition.

Gala was reportedly armed with a knife and began attacking people at random as he emerged from the building. In total, at least five people were stabbed, including the two who later died from their injuries. Shocked locals filmed the attack, capturing the moment when Gala rushed up to a person on the second floor and repeatedly stabbed him until he collapsed in a pool of blood.

Police were alerted to the incident by horrified residents and quickly arrived on the scene to take control. They managed to overpower Gala and took him into custody. The motive behind the attack is not yet clear, and police are continuing to investigate the incident. The attack has sent shockwaves through the local community, and residents are now calling for greater security measures to be put in place to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
