Sudha Murty takes oath as Rajya Sabha MP

BJP launched it 2nd checklist of 72 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Wednesday. The checklist included included names like Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. This comes a day after Manohar Lal Khattar resigned from his submit alongside along with his cupboard ministers. He has been fielded from the Karnal Lok Sabha seat.

The celebration introduced candidates for 10 states together with Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra within the 2nd checklist. Candidates have been introduced for 20 seats every from Karnataka, Maharashtra, 7 seats from Gujarat, 6 seats every from Haryana and Telangana, 5 from Madhya Pradesh, 2 every from Delhi, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and 1 every from Tripura and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.

Minister for Street Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will contest the Lok Sabha elections from the Nagpur Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra. He has been successful the seat consecutively within the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Gadkari had defeated Congress’s Nana Patole in 2019.

Candidates together with former chief minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi have been named within the 2nd checklist. Former chief minister BS Yediyurappa’s son BY Raghavendra will contest from Shimoga. Tejasvi Surya, the BJP youth wing chief will search re-election from Bengaluru South.

Different distinguished names within the BJP 2nd checklist are ex- chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat (Hardwar), cupboard minister Piyush Goyal (Mumbai North), celebration MP Tejasvi Surya (Bangalore South), Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi (Dharwad), former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai (from Haveri).

3 former chief minsters: Trivendra Singh Rawat, Basavaraj Bommai and Manohar Lal Khattar have additionally been included within the celebration’s checklist of 72 candidates. The BJP launched the primary checklist of 195 candidates on March 2. With the brand new checklist, 267 candidates have been introduced by the celebration.
