On World Youth Skills Day, Union Minister of Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan unveiled AI for India 2.0, a free online training course in artificial intelligence. This NCVET and IIT Madras recognized online programme, a collaborative project of Skill India and GUVI would give youth frontier skills.
Speaking at the event, Shri Pradhan urged for more technology courses to be offered in Indian languages and said that language should not be a prisoner of technology. He continued by saying that this is a positive step towards removing the language barrier in technological education and preparing our Yuva Shakti, especially those in rural areas, for the future.
India, he continued, is a technologically advanced nation, as evidenced by its success in embracing digital payments. He expressed happiness that GUVI has taken the initiative to introduce cutting-edge technologies to the folks at the base of the pyramid.
With the goal of making AI learning easily accessible to every region of the country, Shri Pradhan enthusiastically commended the innovative endeavour.
A tech platform called GUVI, developed by IIT Madras, allows for the study of technology in local languages. Nine Indian languages have been used to curate this programme.
