Film Rating – ⭐⭐⭐⭐tars
Salaar,” directed by Prashanth Neel, is an action-packed movie that takes you into the underworld. It features well-developed characters, a strong storyline, and high-octane action sequences, showcasing the talent of the Indian film industry. Prabhas delivers a powerful performance in the titular role, portraying a ruthless yet morally complex character. The movie’s compelling storyline is balanced with adrenaline-pumping action sequences, keeping the audience emotionally invested. Prashanth Neel’s direction seamlessly combines breathtaking cinematography with intense action, creating a visually mesmerizing spectacle. While the film is a thrilling ride, it has a few minor flaws, such as some stretched sequences and pacing issues. Overall, “Salaar” is a must-watch for fans of action-packed cinema, excelling in character development, storytelling, and action, despite its minor shortcomings..
Story: Went to this movie with high expectations but realised it fell short of Prashant Neel’s creativity! The movie is a straight copy paste of Kannada movie Ugram! A low-budget movie like Ugram is being remade into Pan-India standards. It’s like eating pani puri in a 5-star hotel. How could the director possibly copy the entire script of his own movie including the dialogues and scenes. 80% of the movie matches with Ugram!
Analysis: What sets Salaar apart from many action-packed films is the inclusion of a compelling storyline. While action remains at the forefront, the movie doesn’t solely rely on it to keep the audience entertained.
Despite its strengths, Shruti Hassan’s portrayal was a notable weak point. The film seamlessly blends drama and heroic moments, striking a balance between awe-inspiring and less impactful scenes.
Direction : Prashanth Neel’s direction deserves special mention, as he seamlessly combines breathtaking cinematography with intense action. Prashant Neel’s meticulous work is evident in bringing this film to life. While “Salaar” delivers an exhilarating experience, there are minor flaws like some stretched sequences and a slightly lengthy runtime. Some character motivations and plot points could use more exposition for complete clarity.
Behind The Scene : Background music is awesome. Shruti’s screentime was limited but she was beautiful (as usual lol). Prithvi is brilliant and about Prabhas. I have no words. His is the greatest comeback in the history of Indian cinema. I have watched Ugramm. But this is 1000 times better and more fierce. I will also say that in some respects , it is better than KGF 2. Story was crisp. Cinematography was superb. And I can’t praise the master story teller Prashant Neel enough in this movie. He is one of my favorite directors of the present era. And I am happy with his product. So , in conclusion if you want to see Game of Thrones mashed in with some massy South Indian style paste with some peppers and spices sprinkled by Mr. Neel, then dont look further and give it a chance. It is a monster. It is humongous and is only worth seeing in the theatres. Just go for it!
My Words : This movie provided an immersive cinematic journey that left me thoroughly entertained. The first half set the stage, with the interval serving as a high point, while the second half unfolded with a captivating and robust screenplay. Though it shares elements with the KGF franchise, “Salaar” stands out with its exceptional character development. The action sequences, especially in the latter part, were remarkable. Prithviraj portrayed Varada Raja Mannar with precision, and Prabhas’s performance as Deva was commendable.
Verdict : “Salaar” is a must-watch for enthusiasts of action-packed cinema, excelling in character development, storytelling, and gripping action. Prabhas’s performance, combined with Prashanth Neel’s direction and exceptional cinematography, crafts a memorable cinematic spectacle. Despite pacing hiccups, “Salaar” remains an engaging and thrilling film that grips you from beginning to end. Don’t miss the chance to witness this larger-than-life cinematic extravaganza.Overall, I found the movie thoroughly enjoyable and foresee its potential to become a blockbuster.
