President Biden extends condolences to victims of lethal landslides in India’s Kerala

US President Joe Biden expressed his condolences for the victims of the landslides in Kerala’s Wayanad district.

“Jill and I lengthen our deepest condolences to all these affected by the lethal landslides within the state of Kerala in India,” Biden mentioned.

He added that their prayers are with the victims and their households. He praised the bravery of Indian service members and first responders concerned within the rescue efforts.

The landslides, which occurred late on Tuesday (30) evening, left at the very least 281 lifeless and over 200 lacking. Many houses had been destroyed.

An enormous rescue operation is ongoing within the worst-hit areas of Wayanad: Churalpara, Velarimala, Mundakayil, and Pothukalu.
