Prime Minister during the addressal at Saharanpur last week flays the manifesto by saying that it is regressive in nature and lacks focus on advancing India. He further made remarks saying that the manifesto completely resonates with the intentions put forth by the Muslim League during the independence movement.

“Yesterday’s manifesto release by Congress completely bears the imprint of the Muslim League with the remainder dominated by Leftists.” said PM Modi as reported by The Times of India.

Congress’ Response To Modi’s Remarks

Congress Leader, Mallikarjun Kharge offers a rebuttal and accuses the BJP of fearing defeat in the upcoming elections. The Congress has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India following the recent filing of complaints with the EC regarding the screening of The Kerala Story.

In a post on X (Formerly Twitter), Kharge reversed the allegations and regarded the Muslim League as ‘(its) best friend’ of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He further took a dig into the BJP’s support to the British and Muslim League during the Independence struggle. Jairam Ramesh, general secretary of the Congress, who had previously slammed the BJP for politicizing religious sentiments when asked about their decision to not attend the Ram Mandir consecration, during an interview with ANI. He used X to mention that Congress has filed two complaints against the Prime Minister in response to his remarks.
