New Delhi: In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times Digital, Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Amir expressed his support for Indian star bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who has been out of action since September last year due to a back injury. Amir acknowledged that Bumrah has been playing a lot of cricket for a long time across formats, and emphasized that despite his talent, Bumrah is still human and his body needs rest. He also noted that back and knee injuries are particularly dangerous for bowlers, and expressed his hope that Bumrah is recovering well.

Bumrah has missed several major tournaments, including the Asia Cup 2022 and T20 World Cup 2022, and is likely to miss the World Test Championship 2023 Final and the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Amir praised Mohammed Siraj for his recent performances and suggested that India should groom 1-2 young bowlers to be ready in case players like Shami stick to a single format in a year or two.

Finally, when asked about his prediction for the World Test Championship Final, Amir stated that he believes India will win.
