NTPC inks pact for inexperienced hydrogen challenge in Maharashtra

NEW DELHI: NTPC Inexperienced Power Restricted (NGEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra Authorities for the event of Inexperienced Hydrogen and derivatives (Inexperienced Ammonia, Inexperienced Methanol) of as much as 1 million tonnes capability every year, the general public sector energy big stated on Tuesday.

The plan contains Pump Hydro Tasks of two GW and improvement of renewable vitality tasks with or with out storage as much as 5 GW within the state. NTPC has plans to construct renewable vitality capability of 60 GW by 2032, based on the corporate assertion.

The MoU kinds a part of Inexperienced Funding Plan of the Maharshtra authorities within the subsequent 5 years and envisages a possible funding of roughly Rs 80, 000 crore.

NGEL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC and goals to be the flag bearer of NTPC’s renewable vitality journey with an operational capability of over 3.4 GW and 26 GW in pipeline together with 7 GW underneath implementation.

The MoU was exchanged between Mohit Bhargava, Chief Government Officer, NGEL and Narayan Karad, Deputy Secretary (Power), Maharashtra within the presence of the Chief Minister, Deputy CM and different senior officers.
