Ludhiana: In a tragic incident, a gas leak in a chemical factory in Ludhiana has claimed several lives and left many others hospitalized. The incident occurred in the wee hours of Saturday morning when a tanker containing hazardous chemicals leaked in the factory premises.

Eyewitnesses reported a strong, pungent smell in the area, causing people to experience difficulty in breathing and burning in their eyes. Panic spread as people rushed out of their homes, only to find others collapsing on the streets.

According to reports, many people kept falling like leaves of a tree, and dead bodies turned blue due to the effect of the gas leak. The local administration rushed to the spot, and rescue operations are currently underway.

The authorities have evacuated people from the nearby areas and have advised those experiencing any symptoms to seek medical attention immediately. The police have also registered a case against the factory owner for negligence.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of workers in chemical factories and the need for stringent safety measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

The Chief Minister of Punjab has expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and has ordered an inquiry into the incident. He has also directed officials to provide all necessary assistance to those affected by the gas leak.
