The Ethnic Flower Festival of Mindok hRgyaspa in Ladakh began in Kargil, and people could be seen laying floral tributes at the graves of their loved ones. Numerous celebrations can be traced back to the era when the Religion of Bonism was practiced. The Mindok hRgyaspa (Flower Festival) is one such event. On this day, flowers are gathered from mountaintops on a Thursday or Friday, and they are placed at the graves of loved ones along with prayers for their souls early in the morning. On this day, people also gather at a focal point or local cemetery to give charity.
