Mumbai: Joyita Chatterjee is a 27-year-old woman who defines herself as strong, independent, and confident. She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. Her life journey has been filled with ups and downs, but through it all, she has remained true to herself and her passions.
Joyita was born in the industrial city of Durgapur, some 180 km away from the capital state of Kolkata. Her family consists of her grandma, her mother, and her younger brother. Sadly, she lost her father in 2020 due to complications post Coronavirus and chronic kidney failure.
From a young age, Joyita took up journalism and started working when she was 18. She completed her masters later on, but her true passion was always acting. Growing up in a small town, she had a fun and exciting life. She was loved and admired by her peers in school and her teachers. Joyita also took singing and drawing classes on the side. Despite her parents wanting her to become a journalist, she pursued acting and started out with ABP Ananda in Kolkata as a news anchor.
Joyita’s first break in ‘Balveer’ on SAB TV was one of the most defining moments of her career. It set the tone for her as an actor and opened up new opportunities. In 2020, during the peak Coronavirus outbreak, she lost her father, which was one of the most painful experiences in her life. However, she accepted and moved on with life and became even stronger. As the elder child of the two, Joyita learned to take responsibilities for her family.
Joyita’s personal experiences have had a profound and significant difference in her worldview and her perception. She realized that at some point, life cannot be about chasing the things you cannot do. It has to be about accepting and embracing what you can do. Joyita never let countless rejections put her down, and her faith played a big role in that. She is a spiritual person and a firm believer.
Joyita considers invitations to various colleges and universities as an honor and privilege. Her association with such events held by educational institutions is her biggest achievement. She believes in giving back and getting to motivate the new generation is of great pride for her. Joyita is a risk-taker, and she likes to gamble. Thankfully, she has been rewarded every time she has pushed her boundaries.
Throughout her life, relationships have played an important role in bringing many gifts, but none have brought any meaning to her life. Joyita uses knowledge, responsibilities, routines, and fellowship provided by relationships to discover meaning in her life and to guide her decisions and actions.
Joyita believes that regretting things in the past is a pointless task. She learns from her mistakes and successes and is content with whatever decisions she made in the past. As an actor, Joyita would like to continue her career and do some good projects in the near future. She has already appeared in the music video ‘Pas Baito Na’ with actor Sharad Malhotra, which was directed by Aslam Khan. In 2020, she played the lead role in the web series ‘Class of 2020’ directed by Vikas Gupta. In this series, she was seen playing the character of Ranchi Das Gupta.
