Girl, 11, Claims Teacher In Delhi School Has Sexually Harassed Her: Police

In the Dwarka neighborhood of southwest Delhi, a teacher at a government school is accused of sexually harassing an 11-year-old girl, according to police. According to them, the girl and her parents went to the Dwarka South police station on Thursday and made a formal complaint. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) M Harsha Vardhan, the child stated in her complaint that she attends a government school in Dwarka and claimed that Amit, a teacher there, inappropriately grabbed her back and shoulder.

The DCP reported that a complaint was opened at the police station in accordance with sections 354A of the Indian Penal Code (the penalty for sexual harassment) and section 10 of the POCSO Act (punishment for aggravated sexual assault).

According to police, the child received the necessary counseling.

A case has been filed in this issue under the POCSO Act after the accused were the subject of yet another complaint of a similar sort that was received on Friday, according to DCP Vardhan.
