Mumbai: Chandan Roy, the talented actor who won hearts with his performance in the hit web series ‘Panchayat’, recently shared some insights on how he prepared for his role and the challenges he faced while portraying his character. In an interview, the actor mentioned that after reading the screenplay, he developed a deep understanding of his character and the story.
While speaking about the most challenging scene he had to shoot in ‘Panchayat’, Chandan said, “The most difficult scene for me as an actor was when I had to run, grab my bag, say the dialogues, and go to the terrace at the same time. I thought that this shot was lengthy and couldn’t be repeated, it should be finished in one or two shots, and it was shot at night. It was therefore the most difficult scene I had to perform at that time, but I accomplished it smoothly.”
He also talked about the challenges of making technical terms understandable for the audience, especially in his role as an IT expert. Chandan revealed that his director advised him to use simple phrases that would be easy for ordinary people to comprehend, as he had a lot of IT jargon to use that the public wouldn’t have understood. He added that he had to be careful to use straightforward language so that the audience could follow along.
Chandan Roy hails from Bihar and has worked in various popular web series and films like ‘Sanak’, ‘State of Siege: Temple Attack’, ‘Gulmohar’, and ‘TVF Pitchers season 2’. He has at least eight to nine projects lined up for release this year, including some where he plays the lead. The actor expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with skilled co-actors, and he believes that acting puts an individual in a constant state of receiving, and hence one must always conduct oneself properly.
