‘Moira: Never Planned to Fall in Love,’ is a book that touches every emotion one may feel in their lifetime – love, pain, envy, regret, etc.Deepak Agrawal, author of the book and 2023 Golden Book Awardee in the category of Women’s Fiction, spoke with ‘The Christite Post’. He shared a few glimpses regarding his motivation to write during the lockdown and a lot more things.
Mr. Agrawal has been an avid reader since childhood. He has always been curious in knowing about the whys and the hows. “I was born in 1969 and during that time we had no televisions, so I used to read whichever book I could get my hands on,” the author had mentioned.
He has been working with Jindal Stainless Limited for quite some time now and currently holds the post of Senior Vice President. Mr. Agrawal also mentions plaintively that once someone begins their life and starts working, they often tend to neglect the other aspects of it. “I lost my wife in 2015 and when she was gone, I began to wonder, ‘What is it that I am doing in my life?'” he said in remembrance. Mr. Agrawal was evidently shaken by the unfortunate incident, but the current Covid Pandemic was the major turning point in his life. The author expresses how apprehensive he had felt in the beginning of the year 2020 as his son was in the States, where the condition was apparently worse. It was in July of the same year that he had begun writing his first book, ‘Moira.’
“The story is made up of both fiction and true incidents,” the author said. He also adds that if one aspires to be a successful author, he does not need to have a degree in literature. He says that it is not the language that touches the reader, but the emotions in the book.
Mr. Agrawal is currently working on his second book which is expected to be a non-fiction regarding leadership and management, “But it will be different from all the other books that talk about this very topic,” the author said.
